Eagle III

Xray analyser for the microanalysis with high sensitivity. Allows the analysis of small parts and inclusions, similar to a SEM/EDAX but with better sensitivity. Besides spot analysis (spot diameter < 20 µ possible) mappings and line scan can be performed. Measurement under vacuum allows the detection of all elements from Na up to U. Ideal for analysis tasks due to RoHS and WEEE regulations.

The Micro X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer Eagle III µ-Probe represents an instrument of the third generation of micro X-ray fluorescence spectrometers.

The size of the analyzed spot on the sample is minimized by the use of X-ray optics, possible spotsizes range from 20 µm to 300 µm.

A X-ray capillary lens collects a large amount of tube radiation and focuses the X-rays to the analysis area, thus providing a higher precision of analysis in spite of the use of a low power X-ray tube.

The advantages of Eagle III µ-Probe are obvious:

  • Due to a high peak to backround ratio limits of detection are 10 – 50 ppm
  • Non destructive analysis even of irregular shaped samples by means of the small size of the excited area.
  • Large sample chamber for voluminous samples
  • Analysis under vacuum is possible, so organic or liquid samples can be analyzed for elements down to phosphoros
  • Flexible adjustment of the size of the excited area with „VariSpot” or by easy changing of the capillary optics.
